This Sunday (Jan. 12) we talked about how God has designed us for action. Our bodies themselves are designed for forward motion. Our feet step forward when we walk. Our arms swing forward when we walk. Even our chests extend forward when we breathe. God has created us for purpose and for showing His love and mercy to everyone we meet.
The Bible verse we read was Ephesians 2:10, which says that “God made us. He created us to belong to Christ Jesus. Now we can do good things. Long ago God prepared them for us to do.” (NIrV) This verse tells us that God has already prepared opportunities for us to show His love to others this week, the next week, etc., and they are already set in place. It’s up to us to act and carry out the purpose for which we were designed. There are people out there, who are literally waiting and needing to hear that God loves them; that happens through you.
We also spent our time playing a really fun minute-to-win-it game…Cheerio Towers! You have 60 seconds to stack as many cheerios as you can on top of one another. Its way harder than you might think! We discovered that Cheerios are, in fact, not made for stacking…the tallest tower was 4 cheerios high! (GO ETHAN!) Of course, we ate our cheerios, too :) This Sunday we also made a prayer wall. Here's a picture of it you can see on instagram. The kids are so excited about this!
